Alyson Slack is manager of manufacturing strategic initiatives, reporting to Empire State Development’s Division of Science, Technology & Innovation. Working closely with FuzeHub and ESD, Alyson develops and implements strategic industry initiatives and works with federal agencies and other funding partners on opportunities related to technology- and innovation-led economic development in New York State.
Alyson has worked in researcher and analyst roles for ten years, including the past five in the economic development field. She was previously an economic development analyst at Camoin Associates, and prior to that was responsible for special projects at the Albany-based Center for Economic Growth.
She began her career as a researcher at the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington, D.C., and has worked as a freelance economic development consultant, editor, grant writer, and speaker on international affairs.
Alyson has master’s and bachelor’s degrees in international economic policy from American University. She lives in Washington County, NY.
