Last evening, the House filed the FY14 omnibus with the Rules Committee giving a first glance at the very tightly held bill. The $1.012 trillion bill includes funding for all 12 Appropriation Subcommittees and is expected to pass both bodies of Congress prior to the end of the January 18th CR extension. The 1,582 page bill includes $128 million for the MEP program which can be viewed as an increase from post sequestration levels of $121 million in FY13.
The report for the massive bill has yet to be released and may include additional program language regarding specific program allocations, such as M-TACs. ASMC will update its members on any such issues once the report is finalized and released. Overall, NIST received $850 million in the proposed omnibus which is a $41 million increase over FY13 enacted levels.
