The first-of-its-kind National Forum on Expert Finder Systems will take place Feb. 28 through March 1 in Orlando, Fla., with FuzeHub—itself an expert finder system (EFS) consumer —playing a role in its advocacy.
An EFS supports technological innovation, entrepreneurship and economic development by connecting researchers and manufacturers with expertise, resources and funding opportunities. These organizations have been serving universities, businesses, and the research community for more than 20 years but, until now, have had no formal venue to network, learn from each other, and help drive the future of their growing field.
Kim Lloyd, Director of Special Projects for FuzeHub, serves on the steering committee for the National Forum, alongside experts from some of the nation’s top universities. She and Everton Henriques, the New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Solutions Director at FuzeHub, will be participating in panel discussions at the event.
Attendees, including EFS administrators and staff, economic development professionals, researchers and other stakeholders, will share ideas and information on such topics as how EFS platforms are used, the challenges involved in development, the need for new features and functionalities, best practices and the economic development impact of EFS on a regional, state and national level.
The forum also will provide a valuable opportunity for the EFS community to explore the possibility of establishing a professional organization to provide leadership and develop future events.
