Siemens signs 1 Penn Plaza headquarters deal
“The German engineering and manufacturing giant signed a lease to take 35,000 square feet on the 11th floor of the 57-story spire, according to a source. The lease includes an option for Siemens to expand the space to encompass the whole floor—which totals about 60,000 square feet—if it requires additional room in the coming months.”

Governor proposes multifaceted workforce development program
“The governor’s multifaceted workforce development program, which he announced Monday, includes $175 million for a new consolidated funding application initiative for regional job training efforts, launching an online portal with information for companies and job seekers, and creation of a new Office of Workforce Development.”

Medina manufacturer receives Power Proceeds award
“The graphics design product manufacturing firm is investing $2.6 million to construct a 15,500-square-foot addition to its existing facility to accommodate an expansion into the print business to include the design, manufacture and installation of such products as custom wall coverings and window films. The expansion will support the retention of 14 jobs and lead to the creation of more than 50 new positions.”

GE plans ‘on track’ at Quad-C
“General Electric has worked with SUNY Polytechnic Institute to set up a state-of-the-art silicon carbide wafer manufacturing line in Albany, which now is operational. Plans called for GE to set up dicing operations to separate the chips from the wafers at Quad-C. GE also recruited Danfoss Silicon Power to come to Quad-C to establish an operation to package chips into power modules.”
