David Whipple

David Whipple is the Director of Industry Development for renewable energy and clean technology at Empire State Development, the State level job creating agency. He works closely with partners including NYSERDA, NY-BEST, NYPA, NY Green Bank, NYSTAR, industrial property owners, regional EDOs, local IDAs, and utilities. Together with these partners, David helps renewable energy businesses establish manufacturing operations in New York. David has been very involved with initiatives relating to New York’s Climate Leadership Community Protection Act (CLCPA) including offshore wind, energy storage, solar and workforce development.

David is on the board of Directors for New York Battery Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST). He has an MBA from Clarkson University and a BS in Business Administration from SUNY Brockport.
