Invitation to Small and Mid-Sized Manufacturers: Advanced Robotics Manufacturing Institute
The Department of Defense has recently announced an $80M funding opportunity for a Manufacturing Innovation Institute focusing on Robots in Manufacturing Environments (RIME). In response, Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) is leading a strong team proposing the formation of the Advanced Robotics Manufacturing (ARM) Institute. The team consists of industry, non-profit, academic, and government partners from across the country. The ARM Institute will include multiple Regional Robotics Innovation Collaboratives. The mid-Atlantic region will be led by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and FuzeHub. Institute members will have access to a strong national public-private manufacturing network that is focused on the deployment, training, and development of cutting-edge robotics technology.
Small and mid-sized enterprises (SME) will be a critical component of this initiative.
Our team recently submitted a concept paper and expects to be invited to the final proposal round, with submissions due in mid-November.
We are hosting an SME-specific webinar on September 23rd 3:30 PM (EST) to share information on how SMEs can participate in the ARM Institute and member benefits.
Do not hesitate to contact any member of our team with questions about this opportunity.
