National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) brings together business leaders, career seekers, labor, educational institutions, and other stakeholders. This year, NAW will be held from November 8 to 14. In honor of this week-long celebration, FuzeHub’s NYS Manufacturing Now podcast recently spoke with members of the State University of New York (SUNY) Apprenticeship Program and with the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM) at Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC).
When you listen to the podcast, you’ll hear from James Willey and Matt Maloy, the coordinators of workforce development at MVCC. You’ll also hear from Cory Albrecht, the director of AIM, which is the regional Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) center for the Mohawk Valley. Each of these resources will share insights about apprenticeships that can help NYS manufacturers find workforce talent. Career seekers can also learn about valuable opportunities through apprenticeship programs.
During the podcast, Matt Maloy will mention the following links from the New York State Department of Labor (NYS DOL) that he’d like us to share:
- NYS DOL Apprenticeship Homepage
- NYS DOL List of Trades
- MVCC Apprenticeship Page with Contact Info for Matt and James
