The Innovation Fund team has been hard at work – nonstop actually over the last six months, in an effort to continue the momentum of supporting activities designed to spur technology development and commercialization across New York State. Despite the circumstances related to COVID-19, the team is focused on making our fourth competition as exciting as in years past. While we cannot meet in-person, we can still celebrate the success of the program and cheer for the finalist companies as they compete for the opportunity to win $50,000. The competition will be held remotely on November 18-19, 2020 and our companies are eager to present and to demo their prototype products and technologies to what we believe will be an even bigger audience.
To ensure safe physical distancing during the age of COVID-19, our Commercialization Competition 2020 will use an on-line platform called Remo that provides event participants with a virtual experience modeled after the real-world. Remo’s virtual conference hall supports face-to-face video conversations and includes tables, chairs, and a stage for speakers. It is a great tool for virtual networking, interactive demonstrations, and conversations with investors and other entrepreneurs.
