Food, Glorious Food

Our first manufacturing forum of the year, Growth of the Urban Foodscape was a rousing success. As part of this event, expert speakers and panelists provided insights on topics ranging from grant opportunities to food safety.

Held on Thursday, March 16th at Farmingdale State College on Long Island, FuzeHub and partners welcomed 88 attendees along with 25 resources and companies. Our very own Everton Henriques served as the Master of Ceremonies, joined by partners Michael Tucker from the Long Island Food Council, Erica Gregory-Chase from Famingdale SBDC, Cynthia Colón from Stonybrook MTRC, and Elizabeth Luskin from NYSTAR.

Attendees heard from our two special guest keynotes: Dr. John Nader, President of Farmingdale State College, and former CFO of Whitman’s Culinary Group, Doug Whitcomb. Morning presentations were followed by networking and match-making between the resources and businesses in attendance. After morning networking, we dove deep into the latest trends and shifts in the industry with our panel of experts including Kim Bawden from the New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I), Kevin Bryne from FSQA Solutions, Ed Maguire from Cornell Agri-Tech, and Diane Giordano from Marcum LLP.

Year over year, this event grows not only in attendance and participation but with the tangible energy that was felt throughout the entire Forum. We thank everyone who attended and participated.
