Kraft Heinz Cuts Deal To Keep Upstate NY Plants Open

The Kraft Heinz Co. is closing seven manufacturing facilities in North America, the company announced Wednesday — but three plants in Upstate New York will be spared. The move, in all, will affect about 2,600 positions, according to the company, including an operation in Campbell, Steuben County.

How Many Jobs Could New York Lose From $15 Minimum Wage Hike?

“At least 200,000 jobs would be lost if New York raises the minimum wage to $15 an hour for all workers, according to an analysis by a conservative think tank. Leaders of business groups have been pushing back against a proposal by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to increase the minimum wage recently, with a broad coalition of trade groups rallying opposition on Wednesday.”
