Governor Hochul Announces Round 4 Winners of Luminate NY Accelerator Competition
“Governor Kathy Hochul today announced PreAct Technologies as the winner of Round 4 of the Luminate NY optics, photonics, and imaging startup accelerator competition. The company will receive $1 million in investment from New York State through the Finger Lakes Forward Upstate Revitalization Initiative. As required by the award, all winners of the competition will commit to establishing operations in Rochester for at least the next 18 months. PreAct Technologies plans to establish manufacturing in New York State.”
MV EDGE receives Project of the Year award for Cree/Wolfspeed chip fab facility

University at Buffalo receives grant from Siemens for manufacturing software
“Students returning to the University at Buffalo (UB) this fall are poised to benefit from an innovative public and private workforce development collaboration thanks to the Siemens Digital Industries Software Academic Program, which will provide the university an in-kind software grant of tools for computer-aided design, simulation, manufacturing planning, robotics, product lifecycle management, and more.”
Oneida County Announces Two New Business Grant Programs
“Oneida County will be making $200,000 in microenterprise grants and $750,000 in Cares Act grants available to area small businesses and start-ups through Mohawk Valley EDGE. County Executive Anthony Picente says microenterprise grants will range from $5,000 to $35,000. They’ll be available for businesses involved in the manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, agri-business, high-tech, research and development and traditional and innovative small business sectors.”
