A new Center for Advanced Technology has just been designated by Empire State Development. The University at Buffalo Center for Advanced Technology in Big Data & Health Sciences (UB CAT) received the award today, announced in a press release.
In addition to its advancements in research and development, the Center will help promote innovation and business growth in New York State by supporting start-ups and mid-late stage companies with a focus on big data and medicine.
The designation includes $10 million in funding over the course of 10 years with additional funding through joint projects with private sector companies.
