As one of ten Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) centers in New York State, the Alliance of Manufacturing & Technology (AM&T) helps small and mid-size manufacturers and high-tech startups in the Southern Tier be more productive, profitable, and globally competitive.
There are approximately 1,000 such businesses in the eight counties AM&T serves from its base in Binghamton. The center’s business and technical services are customized to meet each of their needs.
One success story is that of Doron Precision Systems, a Binghamton manufacturer of simulator equipment for first responders, federal agencies, and Disney. AM&T has worked with Doron for several years, helping with process improvements and, most recently, a cybersecurity assessment and remediation. As a result, the company has improved its ability to serve its customers and has seen what AM&T Executive Director Carol Miller called an “exponential” increase in business.
