SolarCity Takes On $100 Million Investment; Higgins Calls for Extending Federal Tax Credit

Rochester Region Sees Increase In Jobs In October

“From October 2014 to October 2015, the metro area gained 7,600 non-farm jobs, or 1.4 percent, while the private sector added 8,400, or 1.9 percent. Rochester was one of 10 regions statewide with private-sector job gains last month. Non-farm jobs include private sector and government jobs. The figures are not seasonally adjusted.”

Plug Power Will Start Selling New, More Reliable Fuel Cells

Plug Power, the Latham, New York, fuel cell maker, will start shipping a new, more reliable fuel cell to power its forklifts in the fourth quarter of 2015. That’s according to an announcement from the company on Wednesday. The more powerful cells, called the GenDrive 3340, will be made in Latham.

New York Manufacturing Reports Say October Was Sluggish

“After the rebound in September from August’s poor performance, I thought we might be back in expansionary territory for a while,” said Jay Walker, assistant professor of Economics at Niagara University, who compiles the report. “It seems like the national macroeconomic indexes have been showing strength but we’ve had some problems locally.”
