Christine McLear
Workforce Development Director, CEG
Christine McLear is the Workforce Development Director at the Center for Economic Growth where she provides oversight and direction for regional workforce initiatives. In her role, she oversees CEG’s group sponsor program for NYS Registered Apprenticeship. With a particular focus on manufacturing and IT, this program brings a person-centered approach to attraction and retention efforts for Capital Region companies. Christine previously worked at SUNY Schenectady County Community College where she managed workforce and training programs in Craft Brewing and Distilling, Information Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing. Subsequently, she was promoted to the role of Director of Healthcare and Apprenticeship where she managed healthcare training and apprenticeship expansion in that industry. Before entering workforce development, Christine worked in nonprofit program management and fundraising and development. She graduated from Ithaca College with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and is a graduate of New Leaders Council and Leadership Capital Region (formerly Leadership Tech Valley). Outside of work Christine might be found hiking at the Albany Pine Bush or curling with her teammates at the Albany Curling Club.
