Peter Donnelly
Associate VP for Technology Partnerships, Stony Brook University
Peter has focused his career on innovation and early stage technology commercialization. As investor, entrepreneur, operator, and consultant, he has an accomplished record in evaluating and building projects, companies, and portfolios.
He is the Associate Vice President for Technology Partnerships at Stony Brook University, where he leads industry collaboration, the SBU Research and Technology Park, four NY State Centers of Excellence and Advanced Technology, technology transfer, startup incubation and acceleration, and commercialization of promising early stage technologies.
Earlier, as Managing Director of the Accelerate NY Seed Fund, he led early stage investments in science and engineering innovation coming primarily from research institutions. Before that, he led Accenture’s Greater China consulting practice in innovation and product development in Shanghai and managed a large internal innovation pipeline. As an entrepreneur, he was CEO of a venture-backed early-stage biotech, which he successfully sold, and co-founder and COO of a venture-backed thin film startup. Prior to these posts, Peter worked with Intel and The Boston Consulting Group.
He has an MS in Biotechnology and MBA from The Johns Hopkins University.
