Ethan Poole
Tanks Sales Manager at Vance Metal Fabricators
Born and raised in Geneva, NY, I grew up on a family farm just south of Geneva. I have always
been intrigued by the vast opportunities in the world of agriculture and value the hard work of
farmers. After graduating from Geneva High School in 1998, I attended Hartwick College and
majored in Business Management, graduating in 2002. While at Hartwick I was a four-year
varsity lacrosse player and two-time captain. My career path started with a job at Red Jacket
Orchards in Geneva NY. Beginning in a sales role for their NYC customer base, I quickly
learned the business and took over the East Coast CPG operations as well. After a few
successful years in that sales role, I switched over to a production role in the fruit packing
house, running all aspects of the fruit packing operation, while still handling large volume sales
to the NYC terminal market and grocery chains. During my time at Red Jacket Orchards, I
found an interest in hard cider. I followed that interest and helped a few startup alcohol
beverage companies launch their products. While working for these beverage companies I
became captivated by the production of these beverages and the equipment used for
production, and eventually gained employment at Vance Metal Fabricators, where I am still
employed today. Residing in Canandaigua NY with my wife, two daughters, dog and two cats, I
have been coaching youth hockey for Canandaigua Knights for the past 6 years, as well as
being a board member for 3 years. I also enjoy playing golf, hiking, exploring the finger lakes,
while usually taking a summer trip to an east coach beach destination.
