James Willey

James Willey is a Coordinator of Workforce Development with Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC). He has over three years’ experience in this position working specifically with the SUNY Apprenticeship Program. MVCC is one of two lead campuses to receive funding to work on this project, but the program is designed to work with every SUNY college in New York State.

Prior to this role, James worked at a semi-conductor facility where his knowledge and understanding of manufacturing began. He understands the difficulties that come with retaining skilled labor, therefore he truly believes the apprenticeship program is a great avenue for many companies.

On his free time, James likes to travel, golf, run and do anything that relates to being outside. He will be traveling to the Middle East and Asia at the end of the year for his honeymoon.
