Justin M. Pelletier

Professor of Practice and Director, Cyber Range and Training Center, RIT

Justin M. Pelletier is a Professor of Practice and Director of the Cyber Range and Training Center at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). In this role, Dr. Pelletier leads security assessments and workforce-development initiatives for partner organizations in the critical-infrastructure and national-defense sectors. 

He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the Department of Cybersecurity within RIT’s Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences. His scholarship focuses on technology, security, and risk; he has authored more than three dozen scholarly articles, book chapters, and patents. He holds a Ph.D. in Information Assurance and Security, an MBA in Entrepreneurship, and a B.S. in Computer Science.

Before joining academia, Dr. Pelletier served as a civil servant in the U.S. Intelligence Community and as a member of the modeling and simulations working group within the U.S. National Security Council. A combat veteran, he currently serves as a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve. Justin is a life-promised lay member of the Dominican Order (Ordo Praedicatorum) and lives on a small farm with his wife and their five children.
