Survey: Area Manufacturers Confident About Their Industry

“While area manufacturers reported another strong month, a recent state manufacturing survey tells a different story about the industry in New York. ‘Manufacturing activity in the greater Buffalo‐Niagara region increased relative to the prior month, with the local manufacturing index registering a 67.6 in July, up from 61.9 in June,’ wrote Jay Walker in a prelude to his monthly manufacturing report.”

Albany 3D Printing Event Aims To Encourage Children To Get Involved, Learn About Potential Careers

“A SUNY Polytechnic Institute student is hosting the first 3D printing event in Albany, New York, in September to encourage more children to get involved with the technology and learn about potential careers. The weekend-long event, called the “Printathalon,” will start Sept. 18 at SUNY Poly. It will continue Sept. 19 and 20 at the Ramada Plaza on Watervliet Avenue Extension in Albany.”

“Products from Gatherer’s Granola of Schenectady are now available in 500 Vitamin Shoppes across the U.S., the first national distribution partner for the granola producer. Sandro Gerbini, who started Gatherer’s Granola five years ago, said the company shipped its first order to Vitamin Shoppe at the end of July.”
