Commercialization Competition 2019

On November 18th and 19th, innovators from all over New York State will gather in Albany for the third annual FuzeHub Commercialization Competition, part of the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund
The two-day event includes an exciting line-up of programs featuring leading entrepreneurs, executives and investors working together to bring breakthrough technology to market. Nineteen early-stage businesses (finalists from regional competitions), will present their innovations as they vie for a total of $400,000 in prize money awarded by a panel of technology, industry and business experts.
In addition to the finalists’ pitches, the agenda includes “Insights into Angel Investing,” presented by Upstate Capital Association of New York; “Navigating the Entrepreneur Ecosystem – Next Steps for Start-Ups,” a keynote presentation by Devon Sutton of LC Drives Corporation; and a “Where Are They Now?” featuring former competition winners.
The Commercialization Competition was launched in 2017 to support pre-revenue businesses at a specific stage in their product development. Award money must be used to improve upon a working prototype, to enable the company to pursue additional investments and customers, leading to commercialization of their product. FuzeHub administers the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund as part of its role as the statewide Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center, funded by Empire State Development (ESD) and NIST MEP.
