Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing that’s meant to inspire the next generation of manufacturing talent. On the first Friday of each October, manufacturers open their doors to students, teachers, and community members. This year, over 65 Manufacturing Day events are scheduled across New York State, including ones with five of the state’s MEP centers on October 7, 2016.
MEP and Manufacturing Day
Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) centers are part of a nationwide network of specialists that provide business and technical services to U.S. manufacturers. In New York State, 10 regional MEP centers and one statewide center provide support to small-to-medium companies. On Manufacturing Day and every day, NYS manufacturers can engage MEP centers like ITAC, Insyte, CITEC, HTR, AM&T, and FuzeHub.
New York City
New York City’s MEP center, the NYC Industrial and Technology Assistance Corporation (ITAC), will celebrate Manufacturing Day 2016 with an event about trends in advanced manufacturing and implications for the local workforce. ITAC’s event will feature a series of speakers, including a keynote address by Scott Cohen, the co-founder of New Lab. Register here for this Manufacturing Day event
Western New York
