The NYS Center of Excellence partners NYS businesses with the University at Buffalo to access faculty, students and resources to develop early-stage commercial products. Projects have ranged from green hydrogen electrolysis membranes to low environmental impact RFID antennas to supercapacitor materials for energy storage. L&S Energy Services
L&S Energy Services provides energy and sustainability services to the commercial, industrial, agricultural, and institutional facility sectors. We work closely with our clients in all stages of their energy efficiency, process improvement, and carbon-reduction projects. We guide and educate customers in an objective manner, about the economic and carbon benefits of energy efficient systems, retrofits, and improvements. As a National Grid Technical Assistance provider and NYSERDA FlexTech Contractor, L&S is can complete cost-shared energy and process improvement studies. We also work with our clients to identify and secure energy efficiency incentives.
Community Offshore Wind
RWE and National Grid have partnered to jointly develop offshore wind projects in the Northeast U.S. With this partnership, National Grid and RWE have jointly acquired an offshore seabed lease with the goal of developing, constructing, and operating U.S. offshore wind projects. This partnership supports both companies’ efforts to advance a clean energy future and achieve net zero in the coming decades. Offshore wind will be critical for the U.S., particularly in the Northeast, to reduce emissions, meet climate goals and create local jobs. Community Offshore Wind understands the importance of meeting these goals and is committed to providing clean and reliable energy, as well as delivering an equity energy future for all its customers.
Workforce Development Institute (WDI)
WDI provides grant opportunities to NYS manufacturers. WDI is a statewide 501(c)3 non-profit that improves the lives of working men and women across the state by providing targeted programs in workforce, economic, and community development. A focus on helping businesses become and remain successful is a key component of this programming. The WDI works to ensure that investments in all three areas – workforce, economic and community development – are integrated and reflect the perspectives of working men and women.

Clean Energy Business Incubator Program at Stony Brook University
CEBIP, the Clean Energy Business Incubator Program at Stony Brook University, seeks to address many key needs of an early-stage, energy-based technology business. This is particularly critical in today’s rapidly changing marketplace. Supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), CEBIP provides access to an unsurpassed team of partners and resources to maximize the prospects for new business ventures.
