GE Picks Spot for New Global Headquarters in Boston

“General Electric Co. will locate its new world headquarters in the Seaport District of Boston along Necco Street. The property is under agreement to be purchased from Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) and sits at the edge of its 44-acre South Boston campus — at 5 and 6 Necco Way, representing roughly 2.5 acres.”

Buffalo Group Invests $500K of Venture Capital into Rochester Industrial Printing Startup

“The Buffalo Capital Partners group has once again teamed up with venture capital firm Excell Partners to back an industrial start-up company with roots in the Rochester region. Rochester-based Excell is leading the $2.5 million round being raised by Sensor Films, while the Buffalo-based group is contributing about $500,000 to that round.”

Albany Tech Company Acquired by Silicon Valley Private Equity Firm

“FirstLight Fiber has been acquired by Oak Hill Capital Partners, a private equity firm out of Menlo Park, California. The Albany, New York, company — founded by Kevin O’Connor as Tech Valley Communications in 1999 — is currently owned by the Boston private equity firm Riverside Partners. Riverside acquired it in 2010.”
