How Chobani Employees in Upstate New York could become Millionaires

“More than 2,000 employees of Greek yogurt company Chobani, headquartered in upstate New York, will be offered ownership stakes in the company. Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya said Tuesday he will offer employees shares worth up to 10 percent of the company when it goes public or is sold.”

Big Ditch, General Welding get RDC Loans

Growth plans by two area businesses, including one of Buffalo’s best known microbreweries, received a boost when a low-interest loan for each was approved by an affiliate of the Erie County Industrial Development Agency. The Buffalo and Erie County Regional Development Corp. directors on Wednesday unanimously approved separate $500,000 low-interest loans — one for Big Ditch Brewing Co. and the other for Elma-based General Welding & Fabricating.”

Kress replaces Seligman as Co-Chairman of FLREDC

“Monroe Community College president Anne Kress has been tapped to serve as the academic co-chairman of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday Kress will replace the University of Rochester president Joel Seligman, who has held the post since 2011.”

New Latham Headquarters could be the Ticket for CDTA’s Future

“Carm Basile’s long-term vision for the Capital District Transportation Authority includes building a new regional headquarters in Latham, New York, that he estimates would cost $100 million. Basile, chief executive officer of CDTA, said the headquarters would ideally be off Northway Exit 4 or 5 — a central location convenient to the bus system’s routes in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Schenectady counties.”
