How to Fund, Build, and Market a Better Product

In this session, you’ll learn about FuzeHub’s Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund, its Manufacturing Solutions Program, and about FuzeHub Marketing Services that can electrify your on-line efforts.

Steve Melito is the Senior Solutions Specialist for FuzeHub and the host of its NYS Manufacturing Now podcast. He also moderates events for FuzeHub and is a regular contributor to its print and digital publications.

Steve will cover FuzeHub’s Marketing Services, including just-released Marketing Packages that can provide manufacturers with an easy way to jumpstart their on-line efforts. He will also share some examples of recent projects and describe capabilities that range from SEO and content creation to web development and e-commerce.

Patty is the Innovation Fund Manager at FuzeHub. She works closely with NYS not-for-profit organizations and manufacturers to support product and process development, enhancement and commercialization. She holds an MBA from the University at Albany.

Patty will describe the FuzeHub grant programs available through the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund, including eligibility requirements and the differences between the two Fund main tracks: Manufacturing Grants and Commercialization Competition. She will share some grant application best practices and give examples of successful projects in the portfolio.

Eric has held various product development roles with manufacturing companies for over 20 years. Prior to joining FuzeHub he ran his own engineering and prototyping firm and now manages FuzeHub’s Solutions Program.

Eric will discuss the role that FuzeHub’s Solutions Program plays in helping NYS manufacturers, from early-stage to well-established, find resources to address their manufacturing challenges. These resources may include regional Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) centers, NYSTAR Innovation Assets, or vetted contract manufacturers.

Cybersecurity Solutions for Manufacturing

Representatives from the Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM) will be discussing the importance of Cybersecurity for small and medium-sized manufacturers, and the steps companies can take to protect themselves.
Since 2007 Cory Albrecht has been assisting manufacturers in the Mohawk Valley Region through the New York State Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NY MEP) Program as the Director of MVCC’s Advanced Institute for Manufacturing (AIM).

Since joining AIM, Tanya has significantly contributed as a program specialist and also helps to support the entire AIM technical staff. Tanya also works on a majority of our marketing projects including newsletters, client success stories, and client promotions.

Paul has provides a variety of IT and Cyber Security solutions and training in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, education, commerce, insurance, and more. Paul has an A.S in Microcomputer Technologies: Technical Support and a B.S. in Network and Computer Security.
