StemCultures Improves Website Traffic and Online Ordering

StemCultures of Rensselaer, New York has developed a revolutionary controlled-release technology that encapsulates growth factors for stem cell medium. The company’s StemBeads® and DISC™ Devices help streamline cell culture production and support a wide of array of biotechnology research applications. StemCultures was familiar with FuzeHub because, in partnership with SUNY Polytechnic Institute, it benefitted from a 2021 Manufacturing Grant through the Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund.

The work the FuzeHub team did on our website has significantly improved traffic to the site. We were able to improve our messaging to match specific customer needs and we improved the overall design to make it more contemporary. The Challenge

StemCultures wanted to get more website visits from its target audience: research lab managers, academic researchers, core facilities, and stem cell product manufacturers. The company also wanted to make it easier for potential customers to find and buy StemBeads® and DISC™ Devices through its online store. StemCultures’ target market is specialized, but this small biotechnology company competes with large businesses and renowned research institutions in search engine results.

The Solution

FuzeHub identified high-value keywords, created and edited technical content, and applied search engine optimization (SEO) best practice to the StemCultures’ website. As part of this effort, FuzeHub also provided SEO training so that StemCultures can continue to optimize its website. To enhance e-commerce, FuzeHub improved the online store so that StemBeads® and DISC™ Devices are filterable by growth factors, cell types, and form factor. FuzeHub also improved the website’s design and individual product descriptions.

Outcomes / The Impact

With help from FuzeHub, StemCultures significantly improved traffic to its website as it improved its search engine rankings for high-value keywords. Importantly, the company also learned how to apply SEO best practices as part of an ongoing effort to create and publish compelling content for its target market. Visitors to the StemCultures website now have more technical resources available, and the online store offers buyers a better user experience.
