Nuravine Feeds Greater Growth

Description

Nuravine of Woodstock, New York, makes an indoor farming platform that automates water nutrient management and analysis for hydroponic systems. Sensors measure nutrients in the water in real-time. The system then adds nutrients based on pre-set levels. The company has developed several generations of products, and the newest version is called the Flux.

Alex Babich, Nuravine’s founder and CEO, was familiar with FuzeHub’s Jeff Lawrence Innovation Fund. The company received an Innovation Challenge award in 2018 and partnered with the Manufacturing & Technology Enterprise Center (MTEC) on a Manufacturing Grant in 2019. Nuravine also received a Build4Scale AIM Onshore grant from FuzeHub in 2019.

The Challenge

Nuravine’s Flux platform included an advanced irrigation controller that would support automation, customization, and ease-of-use. With its 16-valve control outputs, four sensor inputs, and Modbus connectivity, this device required technical expertise ranging from hardware development through product launch.

The Solution

The Center for Economic Growth (CEG), the Capital Region’s NY MEP Center, applied for and received a 2022 Manufacturing Grant in partnership with Nuravine. The $50,000 award supported the development of the Flux Advanced Irrigation Controller. The project also involved working closely with three farms, all of whom provided valuable feedback.

Outcomes / The Impact

Nuravine continues to advance its technology. With help from FuzeHub, it was awarded a grant from the Workforce Development Institute (WDI) in 2023. This award supported website improvements while leveraging FuzeHub’s Marketing expertise in a consultative role.
